At Excel we take the needs of visitors who have accessibility requirements extremely seriously.

Here are some headlines that you might want to think about during the planning stages of your event:

• There are two stations adjacent to the venue - Custom House and Prince Regent - both of them are step-free. View the TfL step-free station map to help your visitors plan their journey.

• There are 80 disabled spaces in the car park located underneath the venue.

• Excel welcomes all Guide and Assistance Dogs. Guide and Assistance Dog owners have important rights under the Equality Act 2010 meaning they are legally permitted to enter establishments where the public are admitted. Unlike Guide and Assistance Dogs, there is no official guidance for personal support animals in the UK. We ask visitors to contact the organiser directly in advance via email, copying in accessibility@excel.london, to request your permission. If you agree, we then brief our security team to ensure access for the visitor and their animal.

• We recognise The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme, supporting venue visitors who are living with non-visible disabilities and choose to wear the Sunflower. All our employees who work directly with members of the public have completed the Sunflower training modules. They have a good understanding of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, a broad understanding of hidden disabilities and are confident to support someone who is wearing the lanyard. We would encourage you to join the scheme, which can be done in five simply steps by firstly registering here.

• Excel is a large venue with a 600m long central boulevard. Please remember to provide clear directions to your visitors to minimise any walking distance for those who are less mobile.

For more information about venue accessibility, please visit our accessibility web page.

We have a guidance document for organisers that covers the facilities in the venue, the services we provide and the organisers’ responsibilities to ensure an enjoyable and compliant event for everyone. Please ask your event manager or a copy of the document.
