Operations toolkit

Our venue has regularly spaced ducts that enable us to easily deliver a range of utilities across the event space from power to natural gas, water and waste and compressed air.

Mains supply power uses the floor service ducts to a nominated duct that is requested by the event’s electrical contractor. These supplies come with a terminated fused isolator that must be accessible and installed to BS7671. Please note the following:

Any event using the halls must have an electrical contractor that is registered with Excel. To register as an electrical contractor complete the health and safety questionnaire and send it to your event manager.

Any event using the conference suites using power other than from a floor socket, must use an electrical contractor.

All orders for power must be confirmed with the mains team at least 28 working days prior to tenancy. Any order that is received after 28 days will not be guaranteed and a surcharge will be applied. To order power complete a mains order sheet and clearly mark the location of the main on a ducted floor plan of the event. Please email these documents to power@excel.london

All requests for power will need to be submitted on an order form and clearly marked on a ducted floor plan of the event, showing the location of each power supply requested. Any power needed during the build and breakdown stages of the event must be ordered as temporary power.

No power will be switched on until the connection is tested to BS7671.

All power sources in the halls will be switched on 30 minutes before the event’s published opening times and 30 minutes after the event finishes. For any specific requirements, please notify your event manager.

If your tenancy includes the Capital Suite, London Suite, Platinum Suite or South Gallery rooms please check the power supply with your event manager. Some spaces cannot accommodate a supply above 13amp whilst others can get up to 63amp 3 phase.

All cables pulled from the ducts must be booked in advance. This is a chargeable service and is supervised by the Mains Team.

If you require natural gas, water and waste*, compressed air, or pool and tank filling services, here is some information for you to consider.  *Please note that waste relates to water waste from sinks and dishwashers.

Our priority is to ensure that any service delivered complies with our exacting health and safety standards.

If you are ordering a sink package or water heater, don’t forget to order a 3kw spur from our electrical team (see order form below).

Gas pipe installations include a 1 inch BSP isolating female valve. Your appliance must be installed by a registered Gas Safe engineer.

  • Any compressed air service will be supplied with a 0.75 inch valve.
  • If you are ordering a dish washer, please order a water and waste service (see order form below).
  • If you are ordering water and waste there must be a platform of at least 100mm deep on your stand.

All orders for water and waste must be confirmed with the team at least 28 working days prior to tenancy. Please use the order form below and include a marked up ducted floor plan that clearly shows the location for each service and the orientation of your stand.
