London Tech Week set to deliver biggest ever event in 2017

London and Partners have announced a new partnership with global events provider KNect365 that will see the 2017 edition of London Tech Week become the biggest yet, as it aims for 100,000 visitors within three years.

The new partnership will mean KNect365, which is part of multinational publishing and events company Informa, will bring its TechXLR8 programme of events to London Tech Week for the first time.

TechXLR8 includes six major events centred on some of the hottest topics in tech, including App World, 5G and the VR & AR World Summit, which will all be part of London Tech Week’s schedule next year.

Taking place across London between 12th and 16th June 2017, Europe’s largest tech festival will welcome speakers, entrepreneurs and startups from around the globe for its programme of conferences, forums and exhibitions.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, commented that the festival underlines the capital’s status as a global tech hub and referenced his post-EU referendum #LondonIsOpen campaign as a key theme in next year’s event.

He said: "London is a truly global tech hub, with a tech sector that sustains thousands of high quality jobs and an unrivalled pool of talented and creative people from all over the world. London Tech Week is a great opportunity to celebrate our ever-growing strength in tech, and the many fantastic entrepreneurs and innovators that help make our city the best place in the world to do business. I want London Tech Week to be Europe’s top tech event in 2017, highlighting that London is open for business, new investment and global talent.“

Stephen A. Carter, Group Chief Executive of Informa added: “London Tech Week 2017 has all the ingredients to be a huge success. There is a great backdrop – London, one of the most vibrant cities in the world – first class venues and ambitious plans for speakers and programming. It’s set to showcase the British and global digital industries at their best and Informa is delighted to be playing a part in the Week.”

The 2017 edition of the festival will be organised by London & Partners in partnership KNect365, along with founding partner Tech London Advocates.

It will also draw support from its strategic partners including Tech City UK, Excel London, UKTI and techUK.
