In a post-Brexit Britain, we are delighted to see a surge in enquiries from international planners, with 50% more business coming from North America this year, compared to 2016.
A great example of our commitment to invest is in food and beverage. We have recently completed a multi-million-pound project to deliver a different kind of catering experience. Our delegates can now feast on flavours from around the world, across 27 high-end eateries. Pastries, bread and cakes are baked fresh at our onsite bakery and there are options for a seated dining experience throughout the day, including collaborations with well-known UK celebrity chefs.
We are also introducing new technology to enhance the catering experience further, as we recognise that great technology enables great event outcomes, saving time and money and improving the experience.
We have partnered with Preoday to offer exhibitors online ordering via a mobile app. This includes a lunch box from our River Cottage Deli, allowing exhibitors to pre-order their fresh, seasonal produce and have it delivered direct to their stand.
From 2018, we will be at the heart of London’s biggest innovation, when the Elizabeth line opens. The Elizabeth line, or Crossrail as it is also known, is a brand new £15billion railway, that will change the face of London and the way visitors travel to Excel.
Excel will have its own dedicated station at Custom House, with 12 trains an hour, each carrying 1,500 passengers. Key destinations, across London, will be reached in record time with direct connections from Excel to Canary Wharf in 3-minutes, Liverpool Street in 10-minutes, Tottenham Court Road in 15-minutes, Bond Street in 17-minutes and Heathrow in 43-minutes.
Whilst the political landscape around the world continues to change, London is a driving force for successful events. We are committed to providing our clients with certainty in pricing across every element of their event, no matter how far in advance they book, down to the last cup of tea.
This has been well received by planners across many different sectors, with the likes of Sibos, Oracle, Salesforce, AAIC (Alzheimer's Association International Conference) and Adobe all confirming events with us.
