We also use 100% renewable energy, send zero waste-to-landfill (and have done for more than 10 years), earning the 'Triple Crown of Sustainability' and even housing one of the UK's largest wormeries. We have also signed up to the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, committing us to a 50% emissions reduction by 20230 and to become net zero by 2050. This, of course, we intend to exceed and will be publishing our roadmap next year.
We also recognise sustainable development as fundamental to our success and endeavour to operate as a responsible corporate business, focusing on five key areas: Climate Action, Resource Efficiency, Client Engagement, Community Engagement and People.
Our vision is to be a sustainability leader within our industry by shaping the future of events into one that is net zero, resource efficient and equitable.

As part of Excel’s decarbonisation strategy and our commitment to the goals outlined in our Net Zero Transition Plan, we are phasing out the use of gas across all events held at the venue. This means that piped gas connections will no longer be available to purchase to support the transition to fully electric solutions.
This change is an important step in reducing carbon emissions associated with event operations, improving on‑site safety, and supporting exhibitors in adopting more efficient, low‑carbon technologies. By moving to electric‑only systems, we are aligning with industry best practice and ensuring that your stand at Excel can meet increasingly ambitious sustainability expectations.
We appreciate your cooperation as we implement this change and are here to support you in planning for a smooth transition.
