This year, we have hosted 300 events and welcomed more than a million international visitors, from every corner of the globe. Notable successes have included The European Association of Urology (EAU), New Scientist Live, Salesforce World Tour London, Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC), World Travel Market, Adobe Summit and ICE Totally Gaming, amongst others.
The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, who celebrated record-breaking success in London in 2015, have confirmed that they will return to the Capital in 2021. This event represents the largest gathering of cardiologists anywhere in the world and generates over £100 million in economic impact for the host city. Following Brexit, the fact that ESC has chosen to return reinforces the city’s commitment to hosting world-leading events and the Mayor’s message that London remains open for business.
When the congress returns, our onsite Elizabeth line station will be open, allowing visitors to access the whole of London in record time. Delegates will be able to travel from Heathrow direct to Excel in 43-minutes and reach the West End in just 15-minutes.
The Elizabeth line will be truly transformational for our business, making it easier, faster and more convenient to get to events at Excel. If you’d like to understand the positive impact this Events Super Highway will have for you, please watch our new Elizabeth line video, which outlines all of the benefits.
In addition to the Elizabeth line, the area surrounding Excel continues to benefit from new developments and investment. London City Airport has recently announced details of its £400m expansion, whilst both the tech and creative sectors are expanding East. All of this at a time when London has been named the world’s most attractive city in the Global Power City Index (GPCI) 2017, for the sixth consecutive year.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make 2017 a record-breaking year for our business. I genuinely believe there has never been a better time to consider London for your next event and look forward to welcoming you to Excel soon.
