Now Senior Account Manger (Exhibitions), Gourlay will sit on the Board helping to further their work which includes access to bespoke networking, training and mentoring opportunities.
Gourlay commented: “Having spent more than two decades in the industry it’s one I care passionately about, but it’s also something I want to help nurture its future. Ensuring diversity and inclusion throughout is very important and something Excel and I care strongly about.
“Through Women in Exhibitions, we have a great platform to help entice future female leaders into the industry, especially those at senior levels, and I’m delighted to have been appointed onto the Board to help with this.”
Gourlay boasts more than 20 years’ experience in the exhibitions industry, beginning at UBM in the interiors/furniture portfolio. She quickly developed and launched vertical sector shows in this market before moving on to manage sales on leading industry event International Confex. In 2010 she switched from organiser to venue, and currently manages a broad portfolio of trade and consumer events at Excel.
