Operations toolkit

Our rigging services form the basis of many complex builds and high-profile promotions in our event spaces.

The health and safety of our visitors and our teams are our top priority when considering and installing rigging points, structures and banners. The documents in this section are designed to help you make safe choices.

The Rigging Guidelines outlines how to provide the rigging team with the right information for them to complete an accurate cost estimate for your event. It also includes:

  • Safety Precautions.
  • The installation of standard banners.
  • The installation of modular structures & banners.
  • The installation of custom structures.
  • Banner rigging best practice.
  • Guidance on using your own rigging supplier.

The Glossary of Terms helps you when specifying your requirements.

Please be aware that your licence with Excel allows you to use your own contractors to make secondary fixings to rigging points supplied by the venue provided that:

  • Application is made to the venue at least 28 days prior to the first day of tenancy by completing the form within the Rigging Guidelines.
  • The arrangement is agreed in writing prior to the work being undertaken.
  • The contact on-site who is competent to carry out the fixings is provided on the form.
  • Installation and dismantling, including the fixing and removal of suspension wires, takes place within the official tenancy period.

If you would like a bespoke rigging quotation, or have any questions, please contact the rigging team rigging@excel.london or your event manager.
