LegalEx

27-28 November 2024

The UK legal sector is a world leader in the provision of legal services and the UK market is the largest in Europe.

With over 330,000 people working within the sector it is a major contributor to the economy and to our society. It is a challenging time for law firms with geo-political and economic instability, weak demand in certain sectors, increased competition and cost pressures from clients. For in-house legal teams, macro-economic uncertainty and increased regulatory complexity have led to a greater emphasis on risk mitigation whilst fulfilling their primary role as a commercial partner to the business.

Against this backdrop the legal industry is undergoing significant transformation largely driven by advancements in technology. It is clear that legal tech, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI), will continue to shape the industry. This is in addition to the move to home working, cyber security threats for customers and the firms themselves and a generational shift in attitudes to work, workplace culture and the environment.

Legalex is an important date in the calendar and brings together a wide range of expertise to support law firms and in house teams prosper in this changing world.
