In line with the UK’s Online Safety initiatives, our free Wi-Fi is designed to:

Keep browsing safe — filtering harmful or inappropriate content.
Ensure fair use — prioritising essential event activities such as browsing, messaging, and email.
Optimise performance — background updates, large file backups, and heavy streaming are restricted to keep the network running smoothly for all guests.

You can use Excel’s free Wi-Fi for:

Browsing the web for information, news, and event details.
Using email, messaging apps, and social media.
Accessing ticketing systems, and schedules.
Running light business applications (document sharing, note-taking, productivity tools).
Using Wi-Fi safely with content filtering aligned to UK Online Safety standards.

You cannot use Excel’s free Wi-Fi for:

Running large software or operating system updates (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android).
Using the network for automatic cloud backups or heavy file syncing (iCloud, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive).
Streaming videos in HD/4K on platforms such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, or Prime.
Downloading or uploading very large files (e.g. films, software packages).
Processing payments on PDQ machines and approved card readers.
Running unauthorised servers, VPNs, or peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing.
Accessing harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content (blocked by safety filters).
