FOCUS WASHROOMS & EXCEL LONDON ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP

Focus Washrooms, one of the UK’s leading specialists, has today announced a new multi-year partnership with Excel London to further enhance the venue’s visitor experience and sustainability goals.

Adding to Excel’s burgeoning Partner Programme – which includes the likes of Budweiser Brewing Group, Ouno, Sokin, Keith Prowse and Carlsberg Britvic – they will now become the venue’s Official Washrooms Partner.

With Excel’s 125,000sqm venue boasting almost 100 washroom facilities, Focus Washrooms will undertake the full, high-quality modernisation all of these during a carefully planned roll-out programme, with a special focus on sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity.

The installation of URIMAT waterless urinals is expected to save an additional 700,000 litres of potable water each year, on top of the millions already saved across the venue – enough to fill six Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Meanwhile, new CONTI+ touch-free taps will also further reduce water consumption - by up to 70% compared to traditional taps - by controlling flow, as well as remaining hygienically clean for longer.

The refurbishment will also enhance the accessibility and inclusivity of the facilities with the introduction of new Ambulant WC cubicles – specially designed for users with mobility impairments who do not require a wheelchair but need extra space and support – together with baby changing facilities fitted in both male and female washrooms.

Specialising in comprehensive, high-quality refurbishment projects from initial concept through to final handover, Focus Washrooms boasts more than 25 years’ experience and refurbished more than 400 washrooms at 70 sites last year. Clients include The Kia Oval, National Trust, ZSL London & Whipsnade Zoo and Royal Museums Greenwich.

Josh Strachan, General Manager at Focus Washrooms, said: “Partnering with a world-class venue like Excel London is a proud milestone for us. Our mission is to ensure that the venue’s infrastructure matches its reputation for excellence, providing stylish, hygienic and sustainable facilities that can withstand the demands of millions of visitors.

“Our expertise in design, installation and project management will deliver washrooms that elevate the overall visitor experience, whilst our partnership enables us to promote our relationship to a key corporate audience that will help meet our long-term growth objectives.”

Simon Mills, Chief Commercial Officer at Excel, added: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Josh and the Focus Washroom team to the Excel London Partner Programme. Over the next three years, Excel is embarking on a multi-million-pound investment programme to further enhance our overall visitor experience, including aspects such as digital infrastructure, wayfinding, food and beverage and technology. Today’s announcement is a key part of this wider strategy and our mission to become the best event destination in the world.”
