EXCEL LONDON REPORTS RECORD YEAR FOR NEW BUSINESS IN 2026

- Venue to host 23 additional major events this year alone, including high-profile launch, relocated & international shows.

- Leading exhibitions including London Build and Digital Accountancy among key events to make switch, with London Book Fair also confirmed for 2027.

- Figure now stands at more than 70 events to follow suit since 2019.

- Major organisers to join trend include RX Global, Terrapinn, Nineteen Group and Easyfairs, together with emerging independents such as Step2Connect.

- Excel’s record investment programme, shared growth plans and mission to become ‘best event destination in the world’ key to success say organisers.

Excel London is set for a record-breaking year for new business in 2026 hosting 23 major new, relocated and peripatetic international events, as major organisers including RX Global, Terrapinn and Nineteen Group continue to follow suit.

High-profile events including London Build and the Digital Accountancy Show are among the shows all electing to make the switch, attracted by the venue’s shared growth strategy, unrivalled transport links and its £350 million investment programme across F&B, technology and digital offerings.

Beginning this week, some of the 23 events include the launches of NoVacancy London (25-26 February), World of Triathlon Live (28-29 March) and the Paper & Tissue Show (11-12 November), together with relocated events such as the London Card Show (17-19 April) and the Hotel Interiors Experience (HIX Europe), (25-26 November).

This year’s 23 new shows also add to the venue’s mounting tally of 73 new or relocated events it’s hosted since 2019, such as The Meetings Show (2021), the London International Horse Show (2021), Reset Connect (2022) and last year’s Retail Technology Show, which enjoyed an 11% growth on its debut.

The trend is already set to continue into 2027 with the London Book Fair recently announcing its decision to relocate with a multi-year relocation deal linked to its wider growth strategy.

In total, the additional shows hosted in 2026 will equate to almost 250,000sqm of event space.

Commenting on the news, James Campion, Head of Exhibitions at Excel London, said: “Since 2019, more than 70 events have either launched or relocated here to Excel, which is testament to our continued investment in our venue, its facilities and its connectivity. We’re seeing more and more of the leading event organisers – such as RX, Terrapinn, Nineteen Group and Easyfairs – move their events to Excel to allow for organic growth and to benefit from our world-class visitor experience, which is all part of our mission to become the best event destination in the world.”

He added: “In addition, we’re also seeing a growing number of independent organisers such as Step2Connect choose to run events at Excel and, from just their debut outing here, we’ve already received confirmation for at least three further shows from them in 2027.”

Excel's 2026 events programme is already well underway, having hosted global exhibitions such as EdTech show Bett, which saw year-on-year growth in terms of footfall, and this week plays hosts to International Confex.
