EXCEL LONDON BOLSTERS CONFERENCE & EVENTS
TEAM FOLLOWING ICC EXPANSION DEMAND

Kirstie Pedrick joins as Head of Sales in response to growing client interest

Excel London has announced the appointment of Kirstie Pedrick to its Conference & Events Team as client demand continues to grow for London and the venue’s newly opened 25,000sqm expansion.

Kirstie, who joins as Head of Sales, brings with her almost 30 years of industry experience, much of it gained at an international level during her time in Singapore working for American Express Global Business Travel.

Now relocated to the UK, Kirstie will predominately focus on international clients and associations, particularly those linked to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

Kirstie, who has also previously worked for Accor Hotel Group and Excel itself, rejoins the team ahead of a milestone year with a record 10 major international association congresses being staged in 2026 alone, with more confirmed for 2027 and beyond.

The 10 events, which nearly all utilise Excel’s new state-of-the-art expansion, include the upcoming FTTH Conference (14-16 April), the INTA 2026 Annual Meeting (2-6 May), EULAR (3-6 June), ESHRE 2026 Annual Meeting (5-8 July) and ESCRS 2026 (11-15 September). In total, the congresses are expected to attract some 80,000 delegates to the UK capital and generate £250 million in economic impact.

Excel’s Executive Director James Rees commented: “For the third consecutive year, London has been voted the number one meetings and events destination in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The popularity of our city as an event destination is driving record interest in both London and Excel – in particular from the US and Europe – so we are delighted to welcome Kirstie back to the team to help strengthen our client proposition.”

Kirstie added: “It’s fantastic to be working with the Excel team again. It’s impressive how much the venue has changed and grown since I was last here and that’s down to its £350 million investment programme across its facilities, infrastructure and connectivity. It’s an exciting time to be joining the team too and I’m looking forward to playing my part in their mission to become the best event destination in the world.”

Built to leading BREEAM sustainability standards, Excel’s £220 million expansion opened last summer, making the venue the largest fully integrated conference and exhibition centre in Europe.

Offering stunning views of London’s skyline, the expansion boasts ultra-modern exhibition halls, conference spaces and breakout rooms, together outdoor terraces - all designed to put delegate experience at the forefront.

Kirstie’s appointment also comes at a pivotal time for Excel as it embarks on a further multi-million-pound investment programme to enhance its digital infrastructure, wayfinding, food and beverage and its overall visitor experience - strengthening Excel’s partnership with organisers and providing the scale, flexibility and support needed to deliver exceptional events at every stage of growth.
