Hello, I’m Amy, Excel’s Head of Food & Beverage.

I come from three generations of restaurateurs, so it’s fair to say food is in my blood. I did a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Finance. However, when it came to choosing a career, it was my passion for food that drew me back towards this industry.

I am proud to say that Excel already has amazing food on offer, but we won’t be stopping there! I constantly look at new trends, innovative technology and different ways of experiencing food, to ensure we have something for every taste.

On a day-to-day basis, I work closely with our food partners on their business strategies to enhance sales, marketing and operations; ensuring that we maximise the opportunity every event brings.

Following a £15m investment, there are over 28 retail units in the venue, ranging from high-street brands and boutique units to collaborations with celebrity chefs. And that’s not mentioning what I can create inside our event halls.

I love the excitement this role brings and the fact that no two days are ever the same!

E16 is our artisan coffee shop. Located on our central boulevard, including its very own bakery, E16 offers mouth-watering treats including red velvet cake, banana and pumpkin seed flapjacks, flourless chocolate brownies and salted caramel tarts, alongside fresh sandwiches and salads. Upstairs in the E16 lounge, you can take time away from the show floor and enjoy a relaxed dining experience.

We’ve invested over £15m to put food at the heart of our home.

Our hospitality menus use a minimum of 80% British seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Excel London Hospitality smoke their own salmon, for use in salads and sandwiches.

Through ingredient repurposing we are reducing our food waste by 20% year-on-year.

All 28 retailers, within our central boulevard, have stopped using non-recyclable plastic straws.

We’re home to the UK’s largest wormery, which recycles all of our vegetable waste.

Surplus food is donated to Community Food Enterprise, for distribution to homeless and vulnerable people.

We will cut 30% of sugars out of our menus by 2020.
